As an engineer by training, I have worked in the high tech world of manufacturing. I Currently teach Manufacturing Engineering at a Technical College, but I am truly an artist at heart. I find my extensive technical background helpful when I take on the task to do something that has not been done like this before. My formal training has helped in this aspect.

I have chosen to work for costumers that can tell when a work has been created by hand and with respect for the natural world that the materials came from.

What is guaranteed form PineWater Designs: I personally pick out the materials, research the construction techniques, constructs the piece and finish the work. Often times the process for construction has not been used before and I utilize my engineering and technical background to "find a way". All pieces are signed individually. Each piece is created to emphasize the artistic element of natural materials and everyday objects to bring you a piece of furniture that is so unique you regard it as a family heirloom as well as get many years of functional as well as aesthetic pleasure.

You will often find my wife Rebecca, daughter Madeline, and myself spending our time together observing and participating in nature. We have found one of the best ways to do this is paddling a canoe or kayak in the lakes and rivers of Northern Minnesota.

Rebecca is a professional Photographer and uses these trips into the outdoors to capture her nature photography and I find much of my inspiration while sitting next to the fire listening to a loon as the sun sets over the water.
